Free driver Education grant for low income students

14 1/2 - 19 years of age

Eligible or receiving free & reduced lunch

Student has not previously held a driver license

Student is not already enrolled in a program. The Grant can not be used as refund or partial refund, if you have paid in full or made any payment toward the program. You CAN use the Grant for behind the wheel if you paid for, or already completed classroom only.
Driving Instruction

Grant covers 30 hours of classroom, 6 hours of observation and 6 hours of behind the wheel

Enroll in certified public school, CESA program, Tribal or private school, or DMV-licensed driver training school (note: provider must be registered with Wisconsin DMV)

Grant funds issued to a student expire after 9 months of no use and student may reapply
The process for our students

Receive a confirmation email with confirmation “coupon” numbers for the course(s)

If you have not already enrolled in or completed classroom enroll in classroom with our partner school kc's and provide them your coupon number for classroom.. If you have skip to the next step.

Once you have enrolled in classroom enroll in behind the wheel portion with us and provide your coupon number. Do not delay, sign up immediately to secure your spot. Funds do expire.

Note: after completing the driver training, student must pay for Instruction Permit, road test and Probationary License fees.
To have their classroom and behind-the-wheel driver training for a Class D (Regular) driver license paid for through the Driver Education Grant Program. Students with grants can enroll in any driver education program offered by an authorized driver education provider. The tuition will be paid directly to the Driver Training school.​
